Elisabete Finger
Studio grantholder in Malmö December 2019 – February 2020
Performer and choreographer Elisabete Finger lives in São Paulo and maintains ongoing creative partnerships worldwide. Her artworks pursue a logic of sensations and an eroticism of matter: a body-matter that fuses, collides and traverses other matter.
She was one of the resident artists in Casa Hoffmann (Curitiba, Brazil, 2004), took part in the Essais programme in CNDC d’Angers (France, 2005/2006) and concluded the MA SODA programme at UdK/HZT (Berlin, Germany, 2010-2011). She has presented her work in different contexts (dance, performance, visual arts) in Brazil and abroad and has been supported by institutions such as Itaú Cultural, Festival Panorama, FUNARTE, Ministério da Cultura, Goethe Institute, PACT Zollverein, Fabrik Potsdam, Uferstudios (DE), Weld (SE), among others.
Her most recent pieces are PUBLIC DOMAIN (together with Wagner Schwartz, Maikon K and Renata Carvalho on the recent censorship in Brazil) and MONSTRA (a partnership with the visual artist Manuela Eichner).
