Susanna Jablonski
Artists in residence, Stockholm 1 December – 28 March 2023
Susanna Jablonski is an artist working in Stockholm. Her work involves sculpture, video, and sound composition. Often combining highly crafted sculptures and vernacular objects within an immersive installation architecture, Jablonski’s work investigates the ontological value of materials, events and bodies – how they sustain or disintegrate, and how meaning is ascribed to the places and times they inhabit.
During the residency period, Jablonski will be engaged in research and production linked to a couple of public commissions, in Sweden and Romania. She will also begin a research process for a series of new works, addressing the agency of the object in the aftermath of a Holocaust.
Susanna Jablonski’s work has been shown at Malmö Konstmuseum (SE 2022), Moderna Museet (SE 2022), Kalmar Konstmuseum (SE 2021), Bonniers Konsthall (SE 2020), Revolver Galería (PE 2020) among other places, and is in the collections of Moderna Museet, Malmö Konstmuseum (SE) and Statens Konstråd (SE).
