The Swedish Arts Grants Committees International programme for theater aims to contribute to artistic development and improved work opportunities for professional artists in the theater field. The programme works to strengthen and expand Sweden based artists’ international networks and work opportunities.

In 2022, the Swedish Arts Grants Committee was tasked with developing an international programme for the theatre field. It is aimed at professional artists in the theatre field including actors, directors, mimes, musical theatre performers, performance artists, clowns, set designers, lighting designers, mask designers, costume designers, sound designers, puppeteers, and dramaturgs.

The development of the international programme for theatre will continue with new international and national residencies and work stays in cities such as Paris, Berlin, and Malmö.
