Charlene Kay Lau

Charlene K. Lau är konsthistoriker, kritiker och curator för offentlig konst på Evergreen Brick Works. I sin forskning intresserar hon sig för bland annat historiskt och samtida avantgarde i konst och mode, allkonstverket, tidsbaserade medier och gränsöverskridningar.

Hon har varit stipendiat hos Banff Centre for the Arts and Creativity; Parsons School of Design, The New School; och Performa Biennial. Charlene har dessutom undervisat på Parsons School of Design, OCAD University, Toronto Metropolitan University, University of Toronto Scarborough, Western University och York University.

Som forskare och curator har hon presenterats i The Guardian, PAPER, The Goods by Vox, The New Yorker och Studies in Costume & Performance. Och hennes vetenskapliga arbeten har publicerats i Critical Studies in Fashion & Beauty, Fashion Theory, Journal of Curatorial Studies, The Routledge Companion to Fashion Studies (2021), och Visual Typologies from the Early Modern to the Contemporary: Local Contexts and Global Practices (Routledge, 2018).

Hon har skrivit konstkritik för bland annat Art in America, Artforum, TheAtlantic.com, The Brooklyn Rail, C Magazine, Canadian Art och frieze.
