R45 Hub

I grunden är R45 en hybrid av fysisk mötesplats/onlineplattform. Vi vill föra samman näringslivet med kreativa skapare, både på onlineplattformen och i olika kreativa hubbar. Vi erbjuder verktyg för att underlätta och effektivisera medlemmarnas skapande, till sänkta kostnader.

’I en musikbransch där intäkter varierar dramatiskt, behöver kreatörerna hjälp med lägre fasta kostnader, inspiration, kompetens kring olika nyckelområden såsom upphovsrätt, kontraktsskrivning mm, samt kunskap och coachning om finansiering.

Därför vill vi som ett av våra nyckelverkyg, erbjuda en inkubator där de kan få hjälp med att hitta vägar till kapital, konkreta kontakter med näringslivet, investerare samt coachning för olika moment i deras  processer.

Idag är projektet längre fram i form av en fungerande hub och inkubator där dagligen ca 40 medlemmar fysiskt och 100 medlemmar online, träffas och utbyter idéer och skapar nytt. Detta i kombination med studiolokalerna som används för bransch och av medlemmar skapar en unik mötesplats i kulturlivet. Under 2024 står vi inför nya utmaningar då våra lokaler kommer att göras om av hyresvärden.

The idea has indirect potential to generate assets and finance from the private sector. This project application is more about building the virtual (and physical) space, coaching and match making to stakeholders. The project is not unique in its financial model, it is very much about building the network and community around artists and in this way also reaching investors, larger music labels that can support the artists (with their own business model of course). The funding for the members (artists) is mainly in new assignments. The uniquness and potential is mostly within the knowledge of the music industry from the project owner, the financial model in itself is not unique/different than existing models.

The project applies for 640K and the delivery plan takes them some steps forward. From the interview the  project owner explained that the project is co-financed by another project, so together it could be financial stable and a good realization plan. The project and its owner has a extended network of relevant collaborators and potential partners. Motivering till valt omdöme An entrepreneur with extended experience in business and in the sector. Through connection to networks, infrastructure and education, R45 positions musicians to establish creative careers on firm ground, with ample support. Motivering till valt omdöme As a hub, not a particularly new or untested mode of financing, but it does bring together different elements in a somewhat new hybrid model that can accelerate individual financing art and culture for individual producers. R45 plan is thoughtfully plotted, with clear intended outcomes that are reasonable for the timeline of the project.

Since based on existing infrastructure, that clarity is convincing. R45 has established collaborations in educaton and some stakeholders in the music sector that speak to their capacity to bridge individual creatives with networks in industry, and have  some personal connections with NGOs and tech manufacturers that will shore up the gap at an institutional level. Leadership is experienced across the different sectors – music and entertainment, education, business, etc – that will sustain the project, and has experience working with the community to be served in hubs.  Other members in the project group similarly speak to other crucial aspects – excellent team.
